At St. Theresa's Arts and Science College for Women, we are committed to ensuring a secure, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students, faculty, and staff. In compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, the Centre for Legal Awareness & Internal Complaints Committee (CLAICC) has been established to address complaints related to sexual harassment and other forms of gender-based discrimination, while upholding the dignity, rights, and safety of everyone on campus.

The CLAICC serves as an essential platform for preventing harassment, promoting legal awareness, and providing a confidential space for individuals to report grievances. The committee is committed to handling all complaints with confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.

Objectives of the CLAICC:

  • Prevent gender-based discrimination and harassment on campus.
  • Provide a confidential and accessible platform for reporting grievances related to harassment or discrimination.
  • Promote awareness about the institution's anti-harassment policies and legal rights.
  • Conduct impartial and timely inquiries into complaints of harassment.
  • Recommend corrective measures and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enforce the institution's anti-harassment policies.
  • Conduct awareness programs and workshops to educate the campus community on legal rights and harassment prevention.
  • Investigate complaints impartially, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Recommend suitable actions based on the inquiry findings, ensuring that appropriate follow-up is carried out.

How to File a Complaint:

If you experience or witness harassment, you can submit a written complaint to the CLAICC using the following methods:

  1. In Person: Visit the CLAICC office on campus.

  3. Details to Include: Please provide the date, time, location, and any witnesses to the incident.

The ICC is responsible for :

  1. Receiving and processing complaints of sexual harassment
  2. Conducting inquiries regarding the complaints
  3. Providing recommendation for action taken
  4. Ensuring that the complainant is not victimized or discriminated against
